A Shadow Day is the best way for prospective students to experience life as a Wyvern. During their visit, students are paired with a Francis Parker student buddy in their current or rising grade level and spend the day attending classes, meeting teachers and classmates, and experiencing what everyday life at Francis Parker is really like.

A Shadow Day is a required part of the admissions process for all High School applicants. To schedule your student’s visit, please email admissions@francisparkerlouisville.org 

COMPONENTS OF THE APPLICATION:

• Create an Online Account – Create an Account in our FACTS Family Portal. After creating your account, you will receive an email from FACTS containing a verification link. Click the link to confirm your email address.
• Complete the Student Information Form – Once your email address has been verified, log in to your account and click Create a New Student Application. A non-refundable fee of $100 must be submitted with each application. Our Priority Deadline is December 18, 2026. Applications completed by this date will receive an admissions decision on February 5, 2027. Applications received after December 18 will be evaluated promptly as space remains available in each grade level.
• Submit Two Teacher Recommendations – Two Teacher Recommendations are required for applicants entering 9th – 12th grade, ideally from core subject teachers. The applicant’s family must provide the teacher’s name and email address in their application. The recommendation form is then emailed directly to the teacher and collected online by Francis Parker.
• Provide School Records and Test Scores – All applicants entering 9th – 12th grade are required to provide progress reports/transcripts for at least the previous two years and standardized testing for the current and previous school years. All required materials can either be added to your online application in the Document Upload section or they may be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions. Francis Parker may also submit a records request to the school on your student’s behalf.
• Complete Application Supplement – Applicants entering 9th – 12th grade should submit a handwritten Francis Parker Application Supplement Form after they have shadowed at Francis Parker. The completed Application Supplement can either be added to your online application in the Document Upload section or submitted directly to the Office of Admissions.
• Other testing as needed.

• For 1st Grade Applicants or for those Applicants coming from another Elementary School: Provide School Records and Test Scores – If a student is applying to JK/K/1st Grade and has previously attended another Elementary School, they are required to provide progress reports/transcripts for any previous school years, as well as standardized testing if it exists. All required materials can either be added to your online application in the Document Upload section or they may be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions. Francis Parker may also submit a records request to the school on your student’s behalf.

Applicants entering the Preschool are required to participate in a classroom visit.

Parents/guardians are asked to remain on campus during their child’s visit.

The applicant’s family must provide the teacher’s name and email address in their application. The recommendation form is then emailed directly to the teacher and collected online by Francis Parker.
• Complete the Preschool Parent Questionnaire – Help us get to know your student and family by completing the Preschool Parent Questionnaire. Families can email the completed questionnaire to admissions@francisparkerlouisville.org or upload it to your application. The questionnaire takes less than 15 minutes.
