All Francis Parker families are invited to celebrate World Kindness Day at the Family Lantern Walk! This meditative, outdoor family walk – for all ages – will be on Friday, November 3 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on our beautiful Goshen Campus in the fields and forest of our nature preserve. Each family will carry a lantern and journey together from the Play Shelter (near the Gym) to the heart-shaped rock in the forest and back to the Play Shelter along a pathway also lit by lanterns.

We will gather to celebrate kindness, belonging, compassion, and community! We will welcome the darkness of the winter months by keeping our lights lit within. Together, we will create warmth and celebrate the light the world needs. This meditative walk will give each of us the opportunity to reflect on our own individual gifts and talents that we share with our community.

You are welcome to – and encouraged to – bring lanterns for the evening walk. Many of our Lower School students have been making their own lanterns in art classes. Please ask your child if they already have a lantern at school to pick up just before the walk begins. Electric tea lights will be available for each child to place in their lantern.

Pizza will be provided at 5:00 p.m. After the Family Lantern Walk, we will enjoy warm beverages and snacks. Please dress for the weather! A rain date is scheduled for Thursday, December 7.

Please RSVP by Friday, October 27.
