Join us for The Showcase of Student-Written and -Directed Plays! The Showcase of Plays features student-written, student-directed, and student-acted short plays by our high school students that are always entertaining, thought-provoking, and surprising. These original scenes offer a glimpse into the teenage minds of the moment and showcase the burgeoning talents of our passionate students.
This year’s selection ranges from quiet drama to Shakespearean send-up, from slasher to Temu-casher — featuring a lottery winner’s love gone wrong, a personal meditation on nuclear war, and the tragic tale of an ice cube that’s fallen to the floor. Francis Parker Theater Arts Director, Reed Gabhart, will also direct one professional scene to add to the bill and, featured in the middle of it all, a set from the School’s improv troupe: The Francis Parker Varsity Football Team!
Performances will be held on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Space at the High School (233 W. Broadway, Louisville, KY 40202).
All Francis Parker students and faculty/staff receive a complimentary show ticket. General Admission tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for non-Francis Parker students. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Cash, credit cards, and checks are accepted.
Due to mature language and subject matter, The Showcase of Plays is recommended for audiences in 8th grade and up.
