We invite you to join us on Wednesday, December 10 from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the High School for a special presentation by psychologist Dr. Alex Pruitt.
According to data published in the Journal of Pediatrics (December 2023), the incidence of eating disorders in children and adolescents ages 6 to 18 has risen significantly since 2019. Dr. Pruitt will share valuable insights into eating disorders and offer practical guidance on how to support your children and adolescents in fostering a healthy body image, exercise habits, and a positive relationship with food. The presentation will cover warning signs, the development of an eating disorder, resources, and preventive strategies that can help establish healthy habits early in life.
With a doctorate in Pediatric Psychology from Spalding University and clinical training from the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Dr. Pruitt brings a wealth of expertise. She has also served as a Governor-appointed member of the Kentucky Eating Disorder Council.
This Thoughtful Series is open to parents/guardians of students across all divisions. We encourage you to join us for this important discussion, which will be followed by a Q&A session.
