Francis Parker Theater Arts Presents “The Drowsy Chaperone JR.”

Francis Parker School of Louisville - Goshen Campus 11000 U.S. Highway 42, Goshen, KY, United States

Francis Parker Theater Arts is proud to present the Middle School spring musical, The Drowsy Chaperone JR. A Broadway Junior adaptation of the Tony-winning musical comedy, The Drowsy Chaperone JR. is a loving satire of the Golden Age musical, featuring hysterical numbers and colorful characters. A woman shares with the audience her favorite record - the 1928 musical The Drowsy Chaperone. As she plays the record, the show comes to life in her apartment, complete with wonderful songs from the Roaring '20s and plenty of dance and comedy! Mix in two lovebirds on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theater producer with his ditzy/flapper/wannabe starlet, a flighty hostess with her deadpan assistant, gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan, an aviator, and a sleepy chaperone, and you have the "recipe" for a raucous musical that will have everyone laughing! Performances are Friday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28 at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Goshen Campus Theater (11000 U.S. Highway 42, Goshen, KY 40026) and are produced and directed by Francis Parker Theater Arts Director Reed Gabhart. All Francis Parker students (Preschool – 12th grade) and faculty/staff receive a complimentary show ticket. General Admission tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for non-Francis Parker students. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Cash, credit cards, and checks are accepted. The Drowsy Chaperone JR. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. Thoughtful Series: Viewing and Discussion of “Growing Up in Public”

Francis Parker School of Louisville - Goshen Campus 11000 U.S. Highway 42, Goshen, KY, United States

Join us on Wednesday, May 8 from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the Goshen Campus Theater for our next Thoughtful Series: Viewing and Discussion of Growing Up in Public: Milestones of Growing Up in the Digital Age. This ISACS webinar presentation is designed for parents/guardians of students ranging from Preschool - High School. “How can we help our kids navigate coming of age in a world where nearly every moment of their lives can be shared and compared? How can we help them navigate all the firsts? First Roblox playdate? First social media account? First phone? We can track our children's every move with apps and fixate on their digital footprint, anxious that a misstep could cause them to be ostracized or even jeopardize their admission to college. How can they figure out who they really are with zero privacy and constant judgment? Author and consultant Devorah Heitner shows us that mentoring and not just monitoring our children will help us understand and support them, build our relationships with them, and help them be successful in digital spaces.” For questions and to RSVP, please contact Julie Marks at 502-795-3476 on the Goshen Campus or Dr. TuNice Cole at 502-736-1015 at the High School.
